What is SymmetricDS

SymmetricDS is open source software for multi-master database replication, filtered synchronization, or transformation across the network in a heterogeneous environment. It supports multiple subscribers with one direction or bi-directional asynchronous data replication. It uses web and database technologies to replicate tables between relational databases, in near real time if desired. The software was designed to scale for a large number of databases, work across low-bandwidth connections, and withstand periods of network outage.

SymmetricDS 3.2.1 Released

SymmetricDS version 3.2.1 is released. This is a patch release that fixes 6 bugs, including fixes for Firebird/Interbase, a registration null pointer, synchronizing jobs for SQLite, and a staging area fix. The staging area bug can cause two batches to be sent in the wrong order after the cleanup job runs. While the automatic retry of batches and fallback mode cover up this bug, it is recommended that users of 3.2.0 upgrade to this release. Get more details from the changelog.

SQLite Support Coming Soon

SQLite support is almost here. It's checked into the trunk and passing unit tests and integration tests. We accelerated the schedule for SymmetricDS 3.2, which should release next week (12/14) and include support for syncing data with SQLite databases. The file synchronization feature we expected to put in 3.2 is not quite ready, so we let it slip to the next release. That should give us enough time to get it right and document how to use it.

SymmetricDS 3.1.11 is released! This release adds some performance tweaks after testing on a large 11,000 node system. Added a hint to the routing query on Oracle to use the proper indexes. Added a new property for the push/pull interval to allow more fine tuning. Added a property to prevent data capture on sym tables at the root server to avoid overhead of hearbeats from nodes. Issues are listed in the changelog for 3.1.11.
