Summary0000560: Support of AES Encryption Is Needed
DescriptionThis is to request to add support for the use of the AES algorithm for db user and password encryption in symmetricds. Since the Java keytool is the primary tool that symmetrids recommends to use in managing the keystore, please also supply instructions and working examples of how to use the tool to create the secret key alias for AES algorithm in the keystore. In addition a mechanism that allows symmetricds to use the user supplied key and iv for AES encryption, would be greatly appreciated. As a stretch objective, a mechanism such as an extension point which would allow the AES cipher from a customized security provider to be used in the encryption would be a nice enhancement. For example, we are using the FIPS-certified security provider from Certicom. In order to use it in encryption, we have to re-implement SecurityService.java. But, if an extension point is provided, like the filter for conflict resolution, it would be very helpful.
